Help with stereo and turntable cables please?

Right, I recently bought a new turntable, the "Numark TTUSB". I also have "Teac TDX250i" stereo. I want to connect the turntable to the stereo speaker system (Both the side speakers and the sub woofer). There is a red and white RCA output from the turntable and a red and white input for the sub woofer. When using the stereo normally there is a red and white RCA cable connecting the sub woofer and the two side speakers. I think the side speakers have to be connected to the sub woofer for the system to work? I know there are various RCA splitters and extension cables but I really don't have a clue what to do! Any help would be very helpful... Thanks in advance!

as long as the radio unit fits in your dinn(dash board) it should work as for your subs, if youre using a mono block amp it probly performs best at .5 to 1 ohm but if youre only useing one dvc speaker you can only drop it to 2 ohms if you wire it in a sieries wire it from the positive side of amp to positive side of speaker of the first voice coil, then the negitive to the negitive of the first voice coil, from there put a different set of wires from positive to negitive and negitive to positive of the second voice coil. this way youre amp should run at 2 ohms and youre polarities wont cross and cancell each other out

because im from the UK.. its all in pounds so that wont help you.. im using a VGA with RED and WHITE sound plugs. my monitor doesnt have any speakers.. so i used an old sony stereo. which had an input and output red and white. its got kicking bass. cable only cost me �15 and the stereo was sitting in my room doing nothing.. but getting to the answer yes it will work aslong as the speakers have there own power. the xbox cant power them. so computer speakers with own power will do.. but you will need a adpator prob.

Playing on loudness low bad for subwoofers?

I have two Planet Audios 1000Watt peak hooked up to a mono-block 1500watt. Its also 1100watt rms. Ive noticed for some time on my head unit which is a pioneer, going through the options theres a Loudness and when I go into it theres 3 other options ( off,high,low) when im playing bass on off its not all that great but when i put it on low my subs are bumping alot more than before and the bass is insane! The question is, is playing on loudness Low bad for my woofers?

You could have an installer bypass the factory amp with an aftermarket unit, but that would likely result in failure of your sub because if it's from jeep or most any other factory sub, it will suck. How to change volume on sub woofer missing its control speaker?

So, I have a sub woofer that IS NOT broken or blown, but when I plug in my music player into it, I BARELY hear it when the player is on max volume. I think this is because it was a 3 piece set (2.1) with the volume and control knob on one of the speakers that went with it (I don't have to other two speakers, just sub). So, how can I get the volume adjusted to a hearable level? It was pretty cheap and I can open it up if necessary.

Put its cage at your backyard or the roof where your bird can see it, so when it wonders hungry around and saw its cage, it will make its way back since thats its source of food. Inform ur neighours to contact u if they see a cockatiel that is why i say put flyers. If it cant fly, no use putting the cage on the roof. Humming noise when my bass knob is plugged in and turned up. Whats the problem?

I have the Lanzar Maxp1200 amplifier. I recently took it out of my brothers jeep because he was borrowing it and I need it back because a have a new woofer on the way. When I hooked it up in my room and turned the bass knob up the humming got louder. With the bass knob all the way down there is no humming. I unhooked the bass knob and adjusted the gain and bass boost on the amp manually with a screw driver and there was no humming. Theres only humming whenever I have the bass knob plugged into the amp and turn it up. I never had this problem before and neither has my brother the whole time he was borrowing it. If anyone has any kind of idea of what the problem might be I'd appreciate it a lot.

Get a 0gauge kit for amp and 12 gauge wire for sub (not sure on length u need cuz u didnt state it above) and as for the speakers its not as important as amp to sub so u can hide it oretty well and get away with 18gauge for your 4 soeakers.

Laptop screen water damage?

I had my laptop and water bottle in the same bag but in different pockets. The water leaked out and seeped through the bag, and my laptop got a little bit wet, nothing too serious. I wiped it, went on, and everything was fine. About an hour later, I noticed a diagonal white stripe going from the bottom of the screen. Now there is another stripe parallel to it and they're expanding kinda quickly. I am assuming water got into the screen, though i'm surprised it took a while for it to show up. Is there anything at all I can do to fix this? I can't really take a picture right now, unfortunately. As I am typing this, the two stripes melded together so I guess it's spreading pretty quickly...

no it does nothing of the sort. it only changes the resistance between the subs and the amp. the rms and peak stay the same. FYI the peak rms doesn't mean anything, if you put that much power to that sub you'll blow it. peak is for "burpping" the sub during some competitions.

The weird tan I'm getting from being in the sun during sports, with my shin guards an my long-ish shorts is making my knees super tan and the rest of my leg not so much. Also, my jersey has sleeves that go down pretty far, so the top part of my arms is pale, where by the lower part is very tan. I tried to fix everything today by going outside covering up my knees while I tanned a little (I know it's bad for you, but I was just trying to fix the weird tan line.) As they are intended to be used, the "Monitor Out" of a mixing board would be the logical answer to that. In that application a power amplifier in the range of 200 Watts RMS @ 8 Ohms would certainly suffice. Any reputable brand, Crown, Peavey, Behringer, etc,.

He broke up with me 3 months ago. We were together for over 5 years. We got along great, had a lot in common and were best friends. Then one day he came over and broke up with me, out of nowhere. Can you replace a 10W woofer with a 70W woofer?

What does this change in a sound system? I have a 2.1 system that I cannibalized from an old gaming chair that has 5W satellites and a 10W woofer. Are Led's Suppose To Distort A Sub-woofer?

I tried hooking up some unused Christmas Leds to my 10 inch 200/400 Watt, 4 Ohm Sub-woofer, which was hooked to a Logitech x530 Amp, so I could get Bass reactive lighting. But, the problem is that, when I hook the Leds to the Sub, the Sub would start cutting out, when the Bass is increased. But, I need to increase the Bass, for the Leds to flash bright enough. Anyway, It sounds kind of like Clipping? But I read about Clipping, and it should only happen when the Amp that powers the Sub, can't put out enough power for it, right?... Correct me, if I'm wrong. Anyway, only when the Leds are connected, the Sub would distort, cause I also have two 200 Watt Tweeters hooked up, and I tried removing them, when the speaker distorts, from the Leds, so I could really see if it was to much power trying to be delivered, but it still distorted. This may sound stupid but, could it be something to do with the Leds not having resistors attached to them? And if it is, how would that have fixed the Sub distortion problem? Leds don't used much current at all, anyway, so I'm really confused here. Please help me out.

Logitech x-530 speakers not working!?

I recently bought a set of the Logitech X-530 5.1 speakers, and they worked perfectly fine until I tried using an extender for the front right speaker. The front right speaker is the one that receives the input from a device, and then connects to the woofer via a VGA cable which transmits audio to the other speakers. But ever since I tried using a VGA extender I bought from eBay which ended up not working, I plugged the speaker back without the extender and they don't work at all! The light on the front right speaker comes on, and when I plug headphones into it, sound does come through the headphones! So why not the speakers! ahhhh I'm really annoyed :(

I doubt it...Laptops weren't designed to do 5.1 (unless it specifically states that it does...in that case you would have 3 specific out jacks) the out jack is for headphones the in jack is for a mic. the best you can do is two speakers...but that to may be a problem...doubling up on speakers also doubles up the ohm age so your sound my not take it or as best be very low. There are external speakers for laptops and you may find an amp (Amplifier) that can take your low level output and be able to use more speakers...even convert (sort of) to 5.1

If you are looking for hooking your subs up from a RCA converter box from the back speakers a crossover will be pointless, the bass from your back speakers will just send the bass to the converter box and to the amp via RCA and you control your bass through the head unit and you also can make your subs louder by putting more sound to the back speakers lol. I did this and your subs are loud from this due to the higher power leavinging the back speakers through the box. The downside to doing this your subs don't sound as clean but its not really that noticeable. But just to get back the question i think that crossover will be pointless to have if you have that rca converter from the back speakers. :)

The short answer to your question is that these speakers just won't work with that computer. Simple as that. They are passive speakers meaning that they are just speakers, nothing more. They have no amplifiers built into them as active speakers do and active speakers are what computer speakers are. Even if you were to get some kind of amplifier, such as a receiver, you still wouldn't be able to use that subwoofer with it because it too is a passive speaker and all modern receivers require an active subwoofer. You'd be far better off putting these speakers back in the loft and buying a set of modern, computer speakers.

Getting a car audio system?

i'll be getting a used car in about a month or two, and one of my biggest priorities is getting a good audio system in it. now i'm not talking about an audio system that's super loud and pisses everyone off... i just want to install an aftermarket stereo (the front piece), get the four original speakers replaced, and maybe get one sub-woofer to make sure the bass sounds good. i'm guessing that the stereo, speakers and sub-woofer will cost about $300-$400 for good ones. my question is how much will it cost to get all of it installed? and there are only two places around me that offer installation... best buy and a family owned shop called PJ's Auto Sound. i just want an estimate on how much money they will charge to put all the parts in. any advice would be appreciated!

It is a very difficult question to answer with the information that you provided. You say that you will provide 1000 rms to the lanzar and 750 rms to the Kicker. Does this mean that you you will be buying the amplifier based on which subwoofer you get. If you already have the amplifier than you will have a higher output from the kicker sub because a 2 ohm DVC will give you 1 ohm in parallel and the lanzar will give you 2 ohms (assuming your amp can take a 1ohm load). If your looking for sound quality, your best bet would be with the kicker sub. As for the which one would hit harder, it depends on many factors. The enclosure will have a big impact. A ported box if tuned properly can sound just as good as a sealed box. It will sound louder, but it will be larger. Some people will disagree with me on this one but its true. You need to check on the subwoofer manual to see what size box they recommend and if it fits in your car. Once you have the right size box, the next thing you have is power. If you are providing 750 rms to the kicker and 1000rms to the lanzar (assuming that they are rated for this amount of power), then the lanzar sub would have the advantage and should be able to hit harder.

Red Vertical Lines on Computer Screen?

Hello everyone, Well recently (well today) my computer was left on overnight and I wake up today with a blank black screen So I took out the battery from my laptop because there was no way to shut it off (bad I know) well I came back today home and turned on my laptop only to get vertical red lines on my screen. I turned my laptop off again and turned again and went into safe mode where there was nothing I knew what to do, Then I restarted my computer and I was met with the Blue Screen of death so I go back into safe mode where I'm typing this, when I turn on my computer I get my Vaio message... then instantly I get 3 red stripes going vertical... and I can only boot into safe mode because If I go regular mode, I'm either met by a blank screen or by a BSOD (Blue screen of death... Are Led's Suppose To Distort A Sub-woofer?

I tried hooking up some unused Christmas Leds to my 10 inch 200/400 Watt, 4 Ohm Sub-woofer, which was hooked to a Logitech x530 Amp, so I could get Bass reactive lighting. But, the problem is that, when I hook the Leds to the Sub, the Sub would start cutting out, when the Bass is increased. But, I need to increase the Bass, for the Leds to flash bright enough. Anyway, It sounds kind of like Clipping? But I read about Clipping, and it should only happen when the Amp that powers the Sub, can't put out enough power for it, right?... Correct me, if I'm wrong. Anyway, only when the Leds are connected, the Sub would distort, cause I also have two 200 Watt Tweeters hooked up, and I tried removing them, when the speaker distorts, from the Leds, so I could really see if it was to much power trying to be delivered, but it still distorted. This may sound stupid but, could it be something to do with the Leds not having resistors attached to them? And if it is, how would that have fixed the Sub distortion problem? Leds don't used much current at all, anyway, so I'm really confused here. Please help me out.

Sony Speaker Replacement?

I have an old pair of Sony SS-u421av floor speakers. All the speakers in one cabinet work, but in the other cabinet, the mid range is completely shot and the woofer is really bad. I kind of want to hang on to the cabinets and replace all the speakers, especially since they hold 12" woofers (measuring the frame, 10" if not). Should I just scrap this idea and go buy a new pair of floor speakers, or would it be a decent idea to upgrade the speakers in the cabinets?

Car audio cuts out WEIRD?

I currently am running a sub amp (no problems at all) and a 4 channel speaker amp. All was working fine until one night after I tuned my amp. I didn't notice any problem at all until the next day when I turned up the volume a bit and it started cutting out when any bass was played through the woofers. From there the sound would keep cutting out until I lower the bass or the volume all together (Unless I faded the volume to the back and it would stop completely) . Now to me it sounded like wires were touching or something along those lines. So I took my radio out and looked behind there to check the wires (everything was fine.) This didn't make a difference then I went to plug everything back in and the problem switched from the front to the back! WTFZ Haha I have no idea what's going on and I'm about ready to give up. Also around the same time this started happening my front left woofer stopped working. :(

Wiring a DVC Subwoofer with a SVC Subwoofer?

You shouldn't put two different subs on the same amp. Especially when one is a SVC and the other is DVC. Different subs are going to be different impedances (even if they are both rated at 4 ohms). When a sub is playing the impedance varies. One sub will always end up with more power. If the Alpine sub was blown I don't think someone without the right parts could just fix it correctly. Also, the Type-R Alpine subs only come in DVC. The other thing is that Alpine Type-R more than likely handles 600 watts RMS (depending on the model number). You have an amplifier that is 500 watts RMS. If you want to run two subs like the Type-R you need to have a bigger amplifier to give the subs the power they need. The MRP-M500 is a good amp. It'll power a pair of Type-S subs or a single Type-R without any problem.

Feathers/Color!! HELP.?

I have 2 feathers. One of them is a long skinny aqua blue with black stripes, and the other is short with brown and white stripes that is very fluffy. They are both on top of my head. Audioengine A5 Powered Multimedia Speaker System are amazing. I have had them for 5 months and they produce amazing sound regardless what I am using them for. Only downside to them is that you can hear the compression on MP3 files. So what may sound acceptable on your ipod when your on the go may sound flat on these speakers. So make sure you encode your music files to at least 192kps with a variable bit rate. Anything lower and your music will sound flat.

I just found a spider. I already have a Female Wolf Spider.. and it would take a while to look find what kind of spider the one I just found is.. A smile is always the answer. The girl on the right obviously has better lighting, so your first impression of her is bright, smiley, and attractive. But she looks too young for her age in that pose. I rate her an 8 out of 10. The girl on the left's lighting needs some help, so at first she looks dreary and washed out. She also isn't smiling, but she is trying to do that thing that models do, smizing, (smiling with your eyes.) Despite all of this, it looks like she has flawless skin (as it does for the other girl,) but that might be just because you can't tell because of her un-professional lighting. Can I hook up a passive sub to the sub channel on my receiver?

I just bought a passive in wall sub woofer (Moderno m10) for my new house. On the back it shows a LF & RF input and a LF & RF output. I hooked it up this way to test and was unable to configure my receiver to send the bass through the front speakers. Can I hook these channels up to my sub woofer channel in series or running to wires from the one sub woofer output, without damaging my receiver? thanks!

My thoughts on wattage is watts is how much power is being pushed into your speakers, measured in watts, of course. I don't know much detail but i do know my little bass amp has a 15" speaker and is 150 watts. Depending on the bass it can be REALLY loud, like my Shecter bass. It has 2 active EMG pickups which push more power than a fender squire bass i played with passive pickups. It really wasn't loud at all. Do some youtubing and check out reviews on amps and woofers.

What type of home theater system will i need?

Betta breeding help!! Male bettas won't make bubble nest?

I have 13 bettas and am currently trying to breed 10 of them. I got them all from the pet store :( (since theyre usually old) and 1 of the males I know is 1 year old plus whatever age I got him at. The others are all fairly new. I paired the 10 off and put the girls in a see through cup in a tank. ( each pair has their own tank) I am wondering why the males won't make bubble nests. I am feeding them live food and all five girls have a white dot and all the dark ones have vertical not horizontal stripes. The problem is non of the males are making a bubble nest. I have the temp at 81-82 too. Please help

Generally 2ohms is louder BUT you can't wire those subs up to 2ohms UNLESS you have a 2 channel amp. If you have a 1channel (mono) amp then your choices for wiring up the PAIR are 1ohm or 4ohms (and most amps are NOT 1ohm stable).

If I were you I'd go with the SEx series 12s. JL is way overrated and for the price you would pay for 2 sex's you would be hitting harder than with 2 w6s. My bro used to have 1 RE SE12d2 and that lil bastard hit pretty good. It flexed his windshield a little bit. I haven't heard the newer RE SEx subs in person but I've heard good things about them. If you had the cash the XXXs would beat down way harder than the SExs would in the right box though. Just stick with RE lol

any amp should be fine as long as the speakers have more total power than the amp otherwise if you have all the power of the amp running through speakers which cant handle that amount of power you could blow them up i usually recommend only amping subs and not 6x9s or anything like that unless you have a low powered amp

OK, so I have a 2003 Lancer OZ and I am trying to get a decent sound system for a decent deal. I am already getting an MRP-M500 amplifier and 2 Type R 10" Sub-woofers. I have an Alpine head Unit ( I think its a CDE-123 ) anyways what else do I absolutely need to get to make my sound system work for example, Vented boxes or sealed boxes, 4 gauge wiring or 8 gauge ect. I would recommend a professional type subwoofer. Those home theater subwoofer are not designed for a very large area. Best Buy with a musical instrument department should carry them. Look at a JBL or maybe a Peavey system. They are designed for large room and the bass speaker are designed for long throw. Hope this will help you out.

i don't mean to sound dumb or immature, i'm 18 and my boyfriend is 22. Hello all you reptilian fans, I've got just the question for you. If you are familiarized with the 90s, you might have noticed a certain kind of lizard plush or stuffed animal that was put out in our trade markets. It was 4-7 foot tall (when you're a child everything looks big when it really is not) and it was neon green in color with blue stripes on its tail. I think it came in all different kinds of sizes and possibly one that you could win at a fair or amusement park. When it comes to eBay, Amazon, or Google I have a hard time in finding it so at this point & in a shot in the dark, does anyone have one of their own?
