Laptop screen water damage?

I had my laptop and water bottle in the same bag but in different pockets. The water leaked out and seeped through the bag, and my laptop got a little bit wet, nothing too serious. I wiped it, went on, and everything was fine. About an hour later, I noticed a diagonal white stripe going from the bottom of the screen. Now there is another stripe parallel to it and they're expanding kinda quickly. I am assuming water got into the screen, though i'm surprised it took a while for it to show up. Is there anything at all I can do to fix this? I can't really take a picture right now, unfortunately. As I am typing this, the two stripes melded together so I guess it's spreading pretty quickly...
