Old subwoofer hook up?

so i wanna get a new stereo system and speakers but my old system is pretty damn old as in the hookups are wires with sodered tips you have pinched in the back of the stereo. i want to know if i can hook up these old woofers to the new stereo's which already have adapter plugs, and slots on them.
