Xbox 360 vga cord speakers?

because im from the UK.. its all in pounds so that wont help you.. im using a VGA with RED and WHITE sound plugs. my monitor doesnt have any speakers.. so i used an old sony stereo. which had an input and output red and white. its got kicking bass. cable only cost me �15 and the stereo was sitting in my room doing nothing.. but getting to the answer yes it will work aslong as the speakers have there own power. the xbox cant power them. so computer speakers with own power will do.. but you will need a adpator prob.
